VLC player is among the most used media players in the world. It is free, supports almost every media format available and packs a whole bunch of other useful features.

WAV format files contain uncompressed audio and that may result in huge file sizes, depending on the length. MP3 is the most popular file format for audio. It uses specific compression methods that reduce the file size of the audio without losing significant quality of the recording.

Sometimes, you want to convert your video and just keep the audio and save it as an MP3. It’s simple to extract music from videos. You don’t have to download any additional software to do it if your computer already has VLC Media Player installed. The convert feature that comes with the free player allows you to remove the video part and just keep the audio or the music. That means you can remove all those moving images and just save it as an MP3 or any other audio format like WAV, FLAC or OGG. This is a great feature if you want to just keep the music from the music videos. You’d be reducing the file size drastically.

1. Open vlc  and click on media and go to convert/save. ( Or press the shortcut ctrl+R ) (Pic.1)
2. In the window appeared , click on add and select the file. (Pic.2)
    And the click on convert/save at the bottom
3. Click on the dropdown next to the profile and select audio mp3.
    You can change the preferences by clicking on icon next to it. (Pic.4)
4. Click on browse , choose a path to save the converted file and enter a file name , then click on            save. (Pic.5)

7. Click on start at the bottom.
8. The process will begin . You can see the progress on the timeline.
9.When it complete you'll get the audio.

In case if you get a message like in the picture below , do the following.

I . open task manager . ( ctrl + shift + esc )
    Select vlc media player and click on end task.
II . There you are . You got the audio version. Enjoy......!
